NWHRC Urges Women to Focus on Their Health

Red Bank, NJ, May 10…The National Women's Health Resource Center (NWHRC) is urging women across America to observe National Women's Health Care Month. NWHRC encourages women to focus on their health by taking simple steps for a longer, healthier, and happier life.

"It is important for women to take time out from their busy schedules to take care of their health," said Amy Niles, President and CEO of the national nonprofit organization. "As the Health CEOs for their families, women play an enormous role in caring for their children, partners and parents. To do so, they need to be healthy themselves. The NWHRC has a range of educational materials and resources to help."

Included in the kit of information offered at the NWHRC's Web site, www.healthywomen.org, is the new Family Health Organizer, a four-page tool to help organize all the family's medical information. There are also links to materials developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS): Protecting Our Future - 7 Things to Share with Your Daughter, Create Your Own Health Calendar, and an Information Resources Packet. HHS is the official organizer of Women's Health Week.

The National Women's Health Resource Center is the nation's leading independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women make informed decisions about their health. Its programs include the National Women's Health Report, public education campaigns and its Web site, http://www.healthywomen.org, a one-stop shop for women's health on the Web.
